WSFS Chapter Ninety-Six

“I am pregnant.”

“Big Brother Cheng, Big Brother Cheng, Chu Feng has told me. He said the conflicts between us before were just a misunderstanding! He also said he has no intention of marrying any princess or noble lady, he just wants to be with me!”

“Oh, by the way, I never told you before. Actually, I am the adopted son of the Hou’s mansion, raised by Chu Feng’s parents. We were childhood sweethearts and were about to get married, but I heard from people in the mansion that the emperor is going to arrange a marriage for him. You know, the emperor’s words are like a decree. To avoid embarrassing him, I ran away on my own. I should have trusted him more.”

“Chu Feng also talked to me. He said I didn’t trust him enough, but he also admitted his mistake and said he didn’t spend enough time with me in the past, which made me feel insecure. He promised to spend more time with me in the future.”

“Ah, Big Brother Cheng, how I am so happy! Chu Feng is really, really good!”

In the evening, Su Jun took Chu Feng to Yueqiong Tower for dinner. After dinner, Su Jun held onto Cheng Yun, talking non-stop.

Cheng Yun saw Su Jun so lively and cheerful for the first time. Even when chatting happily with Cheng Bao’er in the past, he never showed such a genuinely happy smile. His whole person exuded an aura of happiness.

During the meal, Cheng Yun could see that Chu Feng cared a lot about Su Jun, as if he was afraid he wouldn’t eat enough, as if he wanted to make up for the past three months of missed meals all at once.

The sweet atmosphere between the two made Cheng Yun feel for the first time the feeling of being force-fed dog food that Liu Wen had described before.

But the next moment, Yang Hongjin fed him a bite of rice and casually said, “Eat properly, don’t look around at others.”

Although criticized, Cheng Yun felt quite happy inside.

Su Jun talked for a long time, and Cheng Yun patiently listened, feeling a sense of relief like seeing his own raised child happily married.

On the other side, Liu Wen and Mo Huaifeng greeted Chu Feng, and they were clearly having a conversation. However, Cheng Yun could still sense the intense gaze coming from Chu Feng.

Despite knowing that the gaze wasn’t directed at him, Cheng Yun still felt immense pressure, experiencing for the first time the so-called pressure from a general.

However, Su Jun seemed to have long been accustomed to it. As he spoke, he would occasionally turn his head to share a smile with Chu Feng. He truly appeared completely immersed in the foolishness of being in love.

Cheng Yun glanced at Su Jun’s still flat belly and asked in a low voice, “Have you told Chu Feng about your pregnancy? It seems like he’s not quite aware. During dinner, he even served you spicy food. Doctor Liu said you shouldn’t consume those spicy and stimulating things.”

“Ah!” Su Jun was reminded of this and realized he had forgotten about it. He stuck out his tongue and scratched his head, “I forgot…”

“You.” Cheng Yun tapped his head, “Remember what you can’t eat, and be careful not to get too excited and jump around like a child, and also…” he paused, feeling a bit embarrassed, “be cautious in intimate matters. Consult the doctor clearly and pay attention to safety.”

Su Jun blushed at his words and nodded like a chicken pecking at rice.

On the other side, Chu Feng had been watching the two of them chatting. He didn’t know what Cheng Yun and Su Jun had discussed, but seeing Su Jun’s expression, he couldn’t help but call out, “Jun’er.”

Not daring to stay there discussing intimate matters with Cheng Yun, Su Jun responded and quickly moved back.

Cheng Yun looked up, and Chu Feng nodded in a friendly manner and smiled at him. Turning his head back to Su Jun, Chu Feng’s eyes softened even more.

“Wife.” Yang Hongjin, sitting beside Cheng Yun, called out, and Cheng Yun turned to looked at him. “You haven’t finished your meal yet so stop looking at others.”

Liu Wen and Mo Huaifeng, the two single men sitting on the side, observed the overly sweet reunion after a long separation on the left and the long-standing sweetness on the right. They felt a bitterness in their hearts and unable to express their feelings, they just clinked their glasses in a sigh.

Liu Wen said, “Brother Chu, you may not know. Cheng Ge’er and his husband are so close. I occasionally see them being so sweet that it’s unbearable. It’s really hard for Young Master Su, living with them every day. As Cheng Ge’er said, it’s like ‘eating dog food’ every day, which fills us ‘single dogs’ to the brim!”

“Oh?” Chu Feng held a bowl of soup to feed Su Jun, glanced at Yang Hongjin and Cheng Yun sitting across, and raised an eyebrow.

Based on the information he had gathered, this Yang Hongjin was considered a fool since childhood. Cheng Ge’er married him because of his low fertility, but after observing him tonight, Chu Feng couldn’t see any significant differences between Yang Hongjin and a normal person.

“I’m full.” Su Jun could only drink half a bowl and couldn’t continue. Chu Feng wiped his mouth for him, while Su Jun said, “The relationship between Big Brother Cheng and Brother Yang is really good. Everyone thinks Big Brother Cheng has to serve Brother Yang at home even after earning money outside. However, it’s not like that. Brother Yang takes good care of Big Brother Cheng as well. I can vouch for it!”

Chu Feng indulgently smiled and pinched Su Jun’s nose.

He was quite interested in Cheng Yun, someone who came from the countryside but managed to build such a successful business with Liu Wen, he had177 even heard about the name Yueqiong Tower in the capital – just this alone was enough for Chu Feng’s admiration.

Not to mention, Cheng Yun brought along a simpleton husband and didn’t yield to fate, creating a bright path for himself.

He heard that it was Yang Hongjin who had saved Su Jun in the first place, and then Cheng Yun had been taking care of him all this time, never depriving him of food or clothing.

Chu Feng didn’t have strong feelings if others treated him well, even when the emperor bestowed titles and rewards upon him, he was indifferent to it. He considered those things deserved, earned through his loyalty and achievements.

But if someone treated Su Jun well, he felt grateful and wanted to repay them doubly.

So, Chu Feng made a mental note of Cheng Yun and his husband. If there was anything he could help them with in the future, he would not hesitate.

While they chatted, Mo Huaifeng casually asked, “What are your plans next? Winter is approaching, and it’s too late to rush back to the capital now. Since Cheng Ge’er and his husband are also spending the winter here in Nanming City, why not stay and return after the festival?”

Chu Feng nodded, “That’s the plan. I rushed here without explaining to my family why I came. I’ll have to write them a letter later, informing them that I’ve found Jun’er.”

He looked down at Su Jun, “My parents miss you a lot. They’ll be very happy to see you back.”

Su Jun smiled, but he thought of Chu Ling, who didn’t like him very much. While the smile he had just spoken to Cheng Ge’er with was genuine from the heart, his current smile didn’t even reach the his eyes, a perfunctory smile.

Chu Feng, who had been watching him all along, immediately noticed. His smile also faded a bit.

Thinking of what the nurse had subtly told him before and combining it with Su Jun’s current behavior, Chu Feng, as clever as he was, connected the dots.

Chu Ling.

Despite all the calculations, he never expected that the person who caused Su Jun to run away alone in the dead of winter was one of his closest people.

His hand unconsciously tightened a bit, and Su Jun felt the pressure, raising his head to look at him. Meeting Su Jun’s clear eyes, the anger that had surged in Chu Feng’s heart dissipated instantly. He lifted Su Jun’s hand and kissed the back of it, looking at Su Jun with warmth in his eyes.

After dinner, Chu Feng accompanied Su Jun to pack their belongings and returned to the inn across the street. Considering the reminder from Cheng Yun during dinner about the baby, Su Jun seemed absent-minded throughout the night.

Chu Feng thought it might be because of Chu Ling’s influence. After arranging the bed, Chu Feng asked Su Jun to sit on it together.

He reached out to hold Su Jun in his arms, tightly embracing his slender body. Resting his chin on Su Jun’s head, they stayed like this in a quiet embrace.

Chu Feng didn’t know how to apologize on behalf of his brother, and he felt extremely sad. When he thought about Su Jun being so heartbroken and leaving without a trace, facing hardships in a place he couldn’t see, the anger in his heart started to surface again.

On the other hand, Su Jun didn’t know how to confess about his pregnancy. Even though he didn’t know about it when he fled initially, the thought of being pregnant and running away alone made him imagine that if he were Chu Feng, he would probably be furious.

Chu Feng affectionately placed light kisses on Su Jun’s hair, forehead, nose, and face. The turmoil in his heart grew, and the final kiss landed gently on Su Jun’s lips.

Su Jun hugged him back, his cheeks flushed. Their breaths mixed together, reminded him of the night before he left.

Chu Feng put his hand on his back and held him tightly, leaving no space between them, not even a slight gap.

Su Jun’s mind was a mess. He had intended to tell Chu Feng about the pregnancy, but under the other party’s intentional provocation, he gradually couldn’t think of anything.

However, just as he felt a sudden coolness on his shoulders and his outer shirt was removed, leaving only a loosely hanging inner shirt on his arm, he instantly became sober.

He pushed Chu Feng away abruptly, looking startled.

Being pushed away when emotions were intense, Chu Feng showed a shocked and puzzled expression. “Baby?”

Su Jun pursed his lips, raised his hand to put on his clothes one by one, not daring to meet Chu Feng’s eyes.

He stole a glance at Chu Feng and saw his look of frustration and confusion. Feeling sorry for him, Su Jun spoke softly, “I-I have something to tell you.”

Chu Feng’s expression stiffened, knowing that the inevitable moment had come.

He had already prepared himself to apologize sincerely for whatever Su Jun might say and to admit fault on behalf of Chu Ling, all in hopes of gaining Su Jun’s forgiveness.

Chu Ling was a young Ge’er, and in the future, he would definitely marry outside. Even if it came to the worst, Chu Feng was willing to buy a house next to the Marquis’s residence. They were all family, and there was nothing that couldn’t be resolved.

Su Jun hesitated for a moment, lowered his head, and quickly whispered something in a low voice. Chu Feng didn’t catch them, so he leaned in, bringing his ear to within a finger’s distance from Su Jun’s mouth. “What did you say? Say it again.”

Su Jun pursed his lips again, took a deep breath, gathered courage, and said, “I’m pregnant. There’s our little baby inside me. Maybe it’s not suitable to do intimate… things.”

His voice became quieter as he reached the end, and he even directly muted the word “things.”

After saying it, he subconsciously shrank a bit, then opened one eye, looking up at Chu Feng to gauge his reaction.

Instead of the expected rage, Chu Feng’s response was a state of stupefaction.

He stood there like a block of wood, staring blankly, his eyes wide open. Even his mouth was slightly agape and wouldn’t close.

Su Jun sighed in relief but found his reaction amusing. As he thought about it, he couldn’t help but burst into laughter and reached out to poke Chu Feng’s face.
